Story behind product:
The desert date oil is extracted from the kernel of the desert date fruit. This tree species is heat and drought resistant therefore used to restore degraded area in many parts of Africa. Part of our mission is to work closely with producers to maintain the reproduction of the trees as they are not only an important source of revenue but also an environment protection.
Our Desert date oil has been sourced directly from women producers in Senegal and Mauritania.
The rediscovery of this oil took me back to my origins, the village of my great grandparents in the village of Daraa located in Mauritania. Although I grew up in Senegal, my great grandparents came from Mauritania which is a neighboring country of Senegal located in the Northern border.
I had a great opportunity to visit my grandparents' village and met incredible hard-working women who tirelessly try to improve the conditions of their lives. Their main source of revenues are mainly from the agriculture. Although the village is rich in natural resources, the women have no choices but to send their youngsters to the nearest rural locations to seek work and or basic education.
Working with the cooperative of women of Daraa and Dieuk which is another neighboring village will provide sustainable income to allow them to improve the conditions of their lives but most importantly to build basic structures to maintain a decent life and prevent rural exodus.
Our mission is to help build self-confidence in girls and women of all colors as well as improving the life of our women producers through fair-trade and sustainability while respecting traditional values.
Warning: For external use only. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.
This oil was super nice on my skin I incorporated it with my body and facial lotions. And it honestly gave my skin such a hydrating boost especially since I struggle with dry skin in my face area it was super helpful and I love it.
My skin loves it! I have been diagnosed with a form of rosacea on my face and the hibiscus oil seems to have settled it down. I use it daily before I put my make up on - my skin feels much softer. I highly recommend!
This balm is definitely going on my skincare favorites list and I can recommend it enough! When I purchased this balm it also included a free mask sample. I love when brands send free samples with purchase because it gives you the chance to try something new and test it on your skin.
I love the way this makes my skin glow and feel. This isn’t the type of oil that just sits on top of my skin, it actually absorbs into my skin. This is now a favorite item in my skincare routine!
